Case Studies was created by
Tom Hawes, Principal and
Owner, of
JTHawes
Consulting, LLC.
Its purpose
is to allow competitive
intelligence professionals,
academics and other
practitioners to discuss
realistic situations and to
share problem solving
techniques freely.
The format of the case
studies approximates what
has long been used in the
Harvard Business Review.
That is, a short, rich story
is presented as a narrative.
Then, invited commentators
explain their
interpretations and problem
solving approaches.
Beyond the invited
commentators, the website
and associated blog are
intended to encourage others
to reflect on the case and
supply alternative
interpretations and
